Elective Course in Academic Writing
An online one-week course in writing skills for academic purposes

Cost: Free of charge
This course is intended for all Bachelor and Master students at the TH Wildau, both German and international, who wish to write papers or their dissertation in English and would like to develop their formal writing skills. The focus will be on the conventional moves and strategies of academic writing such as:
This corpus‐based course will offer practice in processes and strategies that enable students to present their work in a clear and coherent fashion. A variety of free online tools will be demonstrated which enable students to make their writing more formal and academic. Particular attention will be paid to collocations (how words are combined to form phrases) and the challenges that German students face when they seek to develop their own academic style, particularly hedging and evaluating the evidence/arguments presented. Students are welcome to bring along their own academic work so that individual feedback can be provided on the final day.
To be offered -date to be announced- as an intensive course comprising 30 hours. This course is free for all students.

Online Job Application Interviews in Englisch - Coaching
This three-hour workshop will offer practice and coaching in online job interviews in English. We will look at how to prepare and at the online situation and the kind of questions you may face. This will involve practice and coaching with feedback. We will use Webex, and you need microphones and cameras.
Maximum number of participants: 8. You need good B2 or C1 English. Free of charge.
Date: 2 October 2020, 9-12. Please register by 25 September to sprachenzentrum(at)th-wildau.de. There will be a waiting list if more than 8 registrations are received. Please inform us if you have registered and cannot attend. The Webex link will be sent in September.

English Tests for Admission to Master's Programmes at TH WildauBereich öffnenBereich schließen
This is the internal English test for admission to the following master’s programmes: Business Management, Wirtschaft und Recht (general admission and the specialisation in Personnel), Wirtschaftsinformatik. Please always check the relevant admission requirements and study and examination regulations, as you may qualify for admission without further proof of English.
For European Management and Technical Management, and for the specialisation in International Business Law in the Wirtschaft und Recht master's, you require an external C1 English certificate. This can be obtained by taking the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry English for Business examinations at TH Wildau or by externally taking one of the tests stipulated in the degree programme admission requirements.
The next English test for admission to the master’s degree programmes in Business Management, Wirtschaft und Recht (general admission and the specialisation in Personnel) and Wirtschaftsinformatik will be held online on -Date to be announced-, applicants should register by the -Date to be announced-. This test is free of charge. It is based on the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry English for Business Level 3 examinations.

All these questions and plenty more will be addressed in this on-line workshop which will give you advice on writing your thesis; helping to take the stress away and hopefully ending your studies on a high-note!
You will need C1 or B2 English to attend this workshop.
