InvitationBereich öffnenBereich schließen
Dear colleagues and friends
I want to welcome you to the next ENFI Meeting 2016 in the capital region of Germany. Engineering of Functional Interfaces is devoted to interdisciplinary work dealing with interfaces between biological components and technical surfaces. Such approaches are needed in different areas such as sensors, biochips, reactors, biomaterials and medical devices. Thus, the idea of this workshop-like meeting is to bring together young scientists with different research tasks but some common interests since one needs to deal with the design and build-up of surfaces and the proper characterization. This shall also stimulate the interaction between different groups and broaden the view of individual scientists.
The meeting is organized in a special format since most of the participants will get the chance to explain their work in a short oral presentation. This is followed by an intensive discussion at the respective posters allowing a good overview on the different presented approaches and a more detailed exchange. This is the main part of the conference and consequently several time slots for poster sessions will be given. In addition, tutorial lectures by invited scientists will cover different aspects of biohybrid systems starting from biomolecules over new devices to suitable transduction techniques.
We would like to invite you to take part in our workshop. It has already a longer lasting tradition and is organized every year. In 2016 the 9th Meeting will be held at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau in the South of Berlin. Welcome!
Fred Lisdat

Instructions for lecture and poster presentation
Most contributions to the EnFI conference are double contributions.
A brief, oral presentation of 5 minutes with not more than five to six PowerPoint slides. Presentation language is english.
These brief presentations serve as appetizers for starting in-depth discussions during the poster sessions, but shall also deal with selected results. All posters shall be installed with the beginning of the conference.
Please bring your presentation on a memory stick: we will collect all presentations on a ‘presentation computer’ during the breaks and before the beginning of each session.
A poster presentation follows immediately after each of the five topical sessions. All posters should be stalled on the first day and adhesive material will be provided. The recommended poster format is A0 in upright orientation. Other formats are possible, but the maximum usable area is 950 x 1360 mm.

The Technische Hochschule Wildau and ambiance
The Technische Hochschule Wildau (TH Wildau) was founded in 1991 and builds on a longstanding tradition in the field of science and technology. Over a century ago arose in Wildau one of the most modern locomotive factories in Germany. Despite the constant change Wildau has preserved its tradition as a business and science location. Also currently a number of successful international companies have settled here. The campus of the TH Wildau is located in the heart of the historic industrial architecture. With more than 4,000 students, the largest university of Brandenburg has a major share in community life and is the heart of the Wildau science and research location.
