Hallo! Ich bin Mareike Jacobs. Vor über 10 Jahren zog es mich für eine der seltenen Positionen als Musikethnologin an einem ethnologischen Museum nach Berlin. Die letzten Jahre war ich dann in verschiedenen Positionen an einer deutschlandweit aktiven privaten Hochschule tätig - zunächst am Campus Berlin, danach in standortübergreifenden Positionen (Akkreditierung, Studiengangs- und Lehrformat-Entwicklung DS, Projekte zur strategischen Weiterentwicklung der Studienformate). So konnte ich vielseitige Einblicke in Hochschulstrukturen und -abläufe erhalten. Jetzt freue ich mich darauf, diese Erfahrungen an der TH Wildau einzubringen und natürlich auch frische Perspektiven zu gewinnen.

Hello! I'm Mareike Jacobs. Over 10 years ago, I was drawn to Berlin for one of the rare positions as a music ethnologist at an ethnological museum. In recent years, I have held various positions at a private university operating throughout Germany – first at the Berlin campus, then in cross-location positions (accreditation, course and teaching format development DS, projects for the strategic further development of study formats). This gave me a wide range of insights into university structures and processes. Now I am looking forward to contributing this experience to TH Wildau and, of course, gaining fresh perspectives.

In welchem Bereich werden Sie künftig an der TH Wildau arbeiten und welche Aufgaben kommen auf Sie zu?/In which area will you be working at the TH Wildau in the future and what tasks will you have to fulfil?

Ich werde künftig im Team Wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung am ZSL (Zentrum für Studium und Lehre) arbeiten. Wir arbeiten als Team an einem Konzept, wie wir wissenschaftliche Weiterbildung an der Hochschule verankern können. Mein Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf den (rechtlichen) Rahmenbedingungen.

I will be working in the Scientific Continuing Education team at the ZSL (Centre for Studies and Teaching). We are working as a team on a concept for anchoring scientific continuing education at the university. My focus is on the (legal) framework conditions.

Warum haben Sie sich für die TH Wildau entschieden?/Why did you choose to work at TH Wildau?

Mir gefiel das Leitbild der Hochschule und die ausdrückliche Selbstverpflichtung, sich für eine lebenswerte Gesellschaft einzusetzen. Nach Jahren, in denen ich hauptsächlich im Home Office gearbeitet habe, fand ich auch die Vorstellung schön, wieder häufiger an einem Campus zu sein und dort direkten Austausch und Gemeinschaft zu erleben. Die Stelle ermöglicht es mir, mein Wissen und meine Erfahrung aus meiner Zeit als Mitarbeiterin an einer anderen Hochschule einzubringen – und gleichzeitig Neues zu entdecken und mich fachlich und persönlich weiterzuentwickeln. Mir ist es wichtig, mit offenen Augen durch die Welt zu gehen und voneinander zu lernen.

I liked the university's mission statement and its explicit commitment to working towards a society worth living in. After years of mainly working from home, I also liked the idea of being on campus more often and experiencing direct exchange and community there. The position allows me to contribute my knowledge and experience from my time as an employee at another university – and at the same time to discover new things and develop professionally and personally. It is important to me to go through the world with open eyes and learn from each other.
