Dear family of Hossain, dear class of EB-22 and dear fellow colleagues,
The notice of Hossain’s demise has left me deeply shaken. He was one of those rare people who brought light into every space he entered—with his intellect, his creativeness, and his genuine joy in connecting with others. As a student, he stood out not only because of his exceptional talent and dedication, but because he truly cared - about his work, his peers, and the world around him.
I had so much hope for Hossain’s future - starting from a special moment during our first semester that he took back in Bangladesh – we were learning about his surroundings through his camera lense and him seeing TH Wildau and his classmates for the first time via my camera. When he arrived to Germany he kept up his great contributions to our classes, took any learning opportunity and brought the classes’ 3D-exhibition project to an incredible success – all while making lots of new friends.
What impressed me most was how he managed to pursue his international education with such purpose - while running his own web shop to support himself. That level of resilience and independence is something I admired deeply. Hossain did make the world a better place.
He was driven, curious, and always thoughtful in a way that made me believe he would go far - straight forward professionally, but most importantly in building a meaningful, full life. He often spoke with pride and love about his wife, his family, his country. Those conversations will always stay with me and I’m expressing my deepest sympathy.
Hossain was a gift to all of us who had the chance to know him. His passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fill, but his spirit and impact will stay with us.
