+++ English Version below: ‘Chill Squad’ wins TH Wildau indoor football tournament +++
Dabei trat jedes Team gegen jedes andere an.

“Chill Squad” wins TH Wildau indoor football tournament
For the first time after a long break due to the pandemic, the TH Wildau football tournament took place once again. Six teams competed against each other in the Wildorado sports hall, producing thrilling matches right up to the final game. The university sports team now wants to firmly re-establish the tournament in the annual calendar and is looking for more players to join the weekly indoor football session on Thursday evenings.
After a break of several years, the ball was rolling again at the weekend at the TH Wildau indoor football tournament: six teams competed in a league format for the tournament title, with each team playing every other team. The standard of play was high, and the final standings remained uncertain right up to the end.
Things got particularly exciting in the last two matches. The battle for second place was decided in the penultimate match: ‘Monday’ and the ‘Bengal Falken’ finished on the same number of points. Thanks to a better goal difference, ‘Monday’ secured second place ahead of the ‘Bengal Falken’. In the final match, ‘Chill Squad’ then managed to climb from third place to the top and clinch the tournament victory. Congratulations!
Respectful behaviour is an integral part of sport
Alongside the competitive spirit, the atmosphere became quite heated at times. One team was forced to leave the Hall following repeated warnings for unsporting behaviour. Organiser Sarah Weber from University Sports regrets this: “Every year, the University Sports team puts together an attractive and varied sports programme for all staff and students. The focus is always on the joy of sport and treating one another with respect.” If these values are disregarded, corresponding consequences must follow.
This does not alter our motivation to firmly re-establish the indoor tournament in the annual calendar. University Sports aims to continue creating opportunities in future where students and staff can play sport together and compete against one another.
Football course on Thursday evenings
Anyone who fancies a game of football outside the tournament can join the University Sports weekly indoor football course. The course takes place on Thursday evenings; we are currently looking for more participants.
Further information about the course and how to register can be found on the University Sports website.
