Gemeinsam Zukunft gestalten: Die 16. Hochschulversammlung der TH Wildau im Zeichen von Innovation und Wandel
Am 19. Juni lud das Präsidium unserer Hochschule alle Kolleg*innen und Studierenden zur 16. Hochschulversammlung ein, um über strategische Ziele und die Weichenstellungen für das kommende Halbjahr zu informieren. Die Resonanz war groß: Rund 100 Teilnehmende verfolgten die Veranstaltung im Hörsaal vor Ort, während sich weitere 55 Kolleg*innen online zuschalteten. Unter dem Leitmotiv „Spielraum für Innovation“ wurde deutlich, dass sich die Hochschule trotz globaler und regionaler Herausforderungen auf einem sehr guten Weg befindet. +++ English version below +++
Präsidentin Prof. Ulrike Tippe betonte in ihrer Eröffnung die Notwendigkeit, flexibel auf gesellschaftliche und geopolitische Veränderungen zu reagieren: „Wir leben in bewegten Zeiten, geopolitisch wie regional. Das wirkt sich natürlich auch auf uns und die Hochschulen allgemein aus. Wir müssen uns zunehmend um Resilienzthemen kümmern.“ Gleichzeitig brachte sie eine starke positive Botschaft mit: „Bei all den Themen – wir machen richtig coole Sachen und wir haben uns auch wirklich richtig toll entwickelt.“
Die Kernpunkte der einzelnen Präsidiumsmitglieder im Überblick:
- Prof. Ulrike Tippe, Präsidentin: Fokus auf Resilienz, Sicherheitsforschung und Exportkontrolle; erfolgreiche Vertiefung internationaler Partnerschaften (u. a. mit der Caucasus University in Georgien); Initiierung des partizipativen Prozesses für das neue Leitbild.
- Prof. Rainer Stollhoff, Vizepräsident für Studium und Lehre: Start des mit 2,8 Mio. Euro geförderten Projekts „SPIN – Spielraum für Innovation“ für projektbasierte Lehre; Entwicklung der Vision „Bachelor/Master – Made in Wildau“; Eröffnung des neuen XR:Labs am 1. Juli; Einführung eines Moodle-KI-Chatbots.
- Prof. Dr. Stefan Kubica, Vizepräsident für Digitalisierung und Qualitätsmanagement: Fortschritte beim „Digitalen Campus Zwilling“, der u. a. historische Gebäude wie die alte Montagehalle virtuell erlebbar macht; Einführung des neuen Tools „SG-Manager“ zur Prozessoptimierung im Qualitätsmanagement; Erprobung lokaler KI-Assistenten („KI-Buddy in a sandbox“).
- Prof. Klaus-Martin Melzer, Vizepräsident für Forschung und Transfer: Verabschiedung der ersten Forschungs- und Transferstrategie; Meilenstein des landesweiten Promotionsrechts; herausragender Erfolg beim „Quantum Application Hub“ mit ca. 1 Mio. Euro jährlicher Zusatzförderung.
- Thomas Lehne, Kanzler: Vorausschauende Finanzplanung für potenzielle Haushaltskürzungen des Landes (Szenarien von 5–10 %); internationaler Erfolg des Förderprogramms „Sprungbrett Campus“ (14 bewilligte Stellen); bevorstehende EMAS-Umweltzertifizierung; In-Sourcing des Reinigungsteams ab dem 1. Juli (Halle 14 und Haus 13).

„Limo an der LOK“: Partizipation unter grünem Blätterdach
Nach dem intensiven Programm im Hörsaal verlagerte sich die Versammlung für ihren zweiten, interaktiven Teil nach draußen. Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein versammelte sich die Hochschulgemeinschaft im einladenden Schatten der Bäume rund um die historische Dampflokomotive zum Get-together „Limo an der LOK“.
Im Mittelpunkt stand hier die aktive, partizipative Mitarbeit am neuen Leitbild der TH Wildau, das den laufenden Strategieprozess abrundet. Eine engagierte, 15-köpfige Arbeitsgruppe aus allen Hochschulbereichen (Professor*innen, Verwaltung, wissenschaftliche Mitarbeitende und Studierende) hatte in den vergangenen Monaten ein Konzept ausgearbeitet: Das neue Leitbild fungiert als eine lebendige „Spielanleitung für den Spielraum“.
Monika Molin, Referentin der Präsidentin und mitverantwortlich für den Strategieprozess, bat alle Anwesenden: „Ein Vorschlag für unser Leitbild liegt vor. Jetzt wollen wir gern wissen: Was haltet ihr davon und welche Überlegungen dazu habt ihr noch?“
An mehreren Stellwänden unter freiem Himmel konnten die Teilnehmenden mit erfrischenden Kaltgetränken in der Hand den ersten Entwurf studieren und direktes Feedback hinterlassen.
Mit anregenden Diskussionen und neuen Impulsen für die Hochschulidentität und fand die Hochschulversammlung einen wunderbaren Ausklang, der einmal mehr unter Beweis stellte: An der TH Wildau wird Zukunft gemeinsam gestaltet.

Shaping the future together: The 16th University General Meeting at TH Wildau, focused on innovation and change
On 19 June, our university’s Executive Committee invited all staff and students to the 16th University General Meeting to provide information on strategic goals and the direction to be taken for the coming half-year. The response was overwhelming: around 100 participants attended the event in person in the lecture theatre, whilst a further 55 staff members joined online. Under the theme ‘Scope for Innovation’, it became clear that, despite global and regional challenges, the university is on a very positive path.
In her opening address, President Prof. Ulrike Tippe emphasised the need to respond flexibly to social and geopolitical changes: “We are living in turbulent times, both geopolitically and regionally. This naturally also affects us and universities in general. We must increasingly address issues of resilience.” At the same time, she delivered a strong, positive message: “Despite all these challenges – we’re doing some really cool things and we’ve also made truly fantastic progress.”
An overview of the key points raised by the individual members of the Executive Board:
- Prof. Ulrike Tippe, President: Focus on resilience, security research and export control; successful deepening of international partnerships (including with Caucasus University in Georgia); initiation of the participatory process for the new mission.
- Prof. Rainer Stollhoff, Vice-president for Studies and Learning: Launch of the “SPIN – Spielraum für Innovation” project, funded with 2.8 million euros, for project-based teaching; development of the “Bachelor/Master – Made in Wildau” vision; opening of the new XR:Lab on 1 July; introduction of a Moodle AI chatbot.
- Prof. Dr Stefan Kubica, Vice-president for Digital Affairs and Quality Management: Progress on the “Digital Campus Twin”, which, amongst other things, brings historic buildings such as the old assembly hall to life virtually; introduction of the new “SG-Manager” tool for process optimisation in Quality Management; testing of local AI assistants (“AI Buddy in a sandbox”).
- Prof. Klaus-Martin Melzer, Vice-president for Research and Transfer: Adoption of the first research and transfer strategy; milestone in securing state-wide doctoral degree-awarding powers; outstanding success with the “Quantum Application Hub”, securing approximately €1 million in additional annual funding.
- Thomas Lehne, Chancellor: Forward-looking financial planning in anticipation of potential state budget cuts (scenarios ranging from 5–10 per cent); international success of the “Sprungbrett Campus” funding programme (14 positions approved); forthcoming EMAS environmental certification; insourcing of the cleaning team from 1 July (Hall 14 and House 13).
‘Limo an der LOK’: Participation beneath a canopy of green leaves
Following the intensive programme in the lecture theatre, the gathering moved outdoors for its second, interactive part. In glorious sunshine, the university community gathered in the inviting shade of the trees surrounding the historic steam locomotive for the ‘Limo an der LOK’ get-together .
The focus here was on active, participatory involvement in shaping TH Wildau’s new mission, which rounds off the ongoing strategy process. A dedicated 15-member working group comprising representatives from all areas of the university (professors, administration, academic staff and students) had developed a concept over the past few months: the new mission serves as a living ‘set of rules for the playing field’.
Monika Molin, advisor to the President and jointly responsible for the strategy process, asked everyone present: “We have a proposal for our mission. Now we’d like to know: what do you think of it, and what further thoughts do you have on the matter?”
At a number of display boards set up outdoors, participants were able to study the first draft whilst enjoying refreshing cold drinks and leave direct feedback.
With stimulating discussions and fresh ideas for the university’s identity, the University General Meeting came to a wonderful close, proving once again that at TH Wildau, the future is shaped together.
