Zukunft zum Anfassen: Nachhaltigkeitstag an der TH Wildau verbindet Campus, Schule und Praxis
Am 25. Juni 2026 verwandelt sich der Campus der TH Wildau in eine lebendige Plattform für grüne Ideen. Kurz vor dem Endspurt in die Prüfungsphase rückt die Hochschule das Thema Nachhaltigkeit ins Zentrum und lädt Studierende, Lehrende sowie Schüler*innen der Region, die zeitgleich den Fachtag unserer Hochschule besuchen, zum Dialog und Entdecken ein. +++ English version below +++
Wie sieht die Welt von morgen aus? Und welchen Beitrag können studentische Projekte schon heute für eine ökologische und soziale Transformation leisten? Diese Fragen stehen im Mittelpunkt des diesjährigen Nachhaltigkeitstages. Dr. Christine Avenarius, Nachhaltigkeitsmanagerin der TH Wildau, betont die strategische Relevanz des Termins: „Nachhaltigkeit ist für uns kein Randthema, sondern ein zentrales Querschnittsthema, das wir fest in unserem Spielraum für Innovation verankert haben. Der Nachhaltigkeitstag am 25. Juni bietet die ideale Bühne, um zu zeigen, wie wir ökologische und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung in Lehre, Forschung und Campus-Management praktisch umsetzen.“
Ein Tag für die gesamte Region
Hinter der Organisation steckt ein starkes Netzwerk: Die Stabsstelle Nachhaltigkeit und die AG Nachhaltigkeit gestalten den Tag in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Zentrum für Hochschulkommunikation (ZfHK). Ein besonderes Highlight ist die Integration des „Fachtags Technik & Naturwissenschaften“, der sich gezielt an Schüler*innen ab Klasse 11 richtet. „Wir möchten junge Talente frühzeitig abholen und ihnen zeigen, dass Technik und Naturwissenschaften Werkzeuge sind, mit denen sie die Welt nachhaltig gestalten können“, so Christine Avenarius weiter.
Show & Tell: Projektergebnisse im Rampenlicht
Zwischen 10:00 und 17:00 Uhr präsentieren Studierende unserer Hochschule an zahlreichen Ständen ihre Ergebnisse aus Projekt- und Belegarbeiten. Dieses „Show & Tell“-Format zwischen Haus 16 und Halle 17 macht die Theorie greifbar. Für Christine Avenarius ist dies ein Kernaspekt des Hochschulprofils: „Unsere Hochschule versteht sich als Spielraum für Innovation. Wenn Studierende ihre Prototypen und Konzepte beim ‚Show & Tell‘ präsentieren, wird dieser Spielraum sichtbar. Es geht darum, mutige Ideen aus den Modulen direkt sichtbar zu machen und den Austausch zwischen den Disziplinen zu fördern.“
Für alle Neugierigen führt ein Campus-Quiz quer durch die Ausstellung zu den einzelnen Objekten. Wer die Fragen zu den Projekten richtig beantwortet, hat die Chance auf attraktive Preise, die unter allen Teilnehmenden verlost werden.
Ein Abend im Zeichen des Dialogs
Nach den Ausstellungen verlagert sich das Geschehen ab 17:00 Uhr in den StuK in Haus 19. Die AG Nachhaltigkeit lädt zur Filmvorführung mit anschließender Diskussion zum Thema Klimawandel ein. Gezeigt wird die 60-minütige Dokumentation „The Week“. „Nachhaltigkeit braucht nicht nur technologische Innovation, sondern auch Reflexion und Gemeinschaft“, erläutert Christine Avenarius. „Mit der Vorführung von ‚The Week‘ und der anschließenden Debatte schaffen wir einen Raum, um über die großen Fragen unserer Zeit ins Gespräch zu kommen – offen, kritisch und lösungsorientiert.“
Aufruf an die Lehre: Nachhaltigkeit in das Semester integrieren
Damit der Tag eine möglichst große Wirkung entfaltet, ist die Unterstützung der Lehrenden gefragt. Die Hochschule bittet die Dozierenden, ihre Studierenden zu informieren und – falls sie am 25. Juni in Präsenz unterrichten – ein kurzes Zeitfenster von 15 Minuten für einen Besuch der Stände einzuräumen.
Besonders wertvoll ist die direkte Verknüpfung mit der Lehre: So kann der Besuch beispielsweise durch kurze Berichte in die Prüfungsplanung integriert werden. Studierende, die ihre eigenen Modulergebnisse präsentieren möchten, können dies über ihre Betreuenden anmelden. Christine Avenarius appelliert an die gesamte Hochschulgemeinschaft: „Partizipation und Mitgestaltung sind die Motoren einer nachhaltigen Entwicklung. Ich lade alle ein: Machen Sie mit, bringen Sie sich ein und lassen Sie uns gemeinsam zeigen, wie lebendig die Nachhaltigkeit an der TH Wildau ist.“

On 25 June 2026, the TH Wildau campus will be transformed into a lively platform for green ideas. Shortly before the final sprint into the exam phase, the university is putting the spotlight on sustainability and inviting students, teachers and school pupils from the region who are attending our university's symposium at the same time to engage in dialogue and discovery.
What will tomorrow's world look like? And how can student projects contribute to ecological and social transformation today? These questions are the focus of this year's Sustainability Day. Dr Christine Avenarius, Sustainability Manager at TH Wildau, emphasises the strategic relevance of the event: "For us, sustainability is not a marginal issue, but a central cross-cutting theme that we have firmly anchored in our scope for innovation. Sustainability Day on 25 June provides the ideal stage to show how we put ecological and social responsibility into practice in teaching, research and campus management."
A day for the entire region
Behind the organisation is a strong network: the central department for sustainability and the Sustainability Working Group are organising the day in close cooperation with the Centre for University Communications (ZfHK). A special highlight is the integration of the ‘Engineering & Natural Sciences Symposium,’ which is specifically aimed at students from class 11 onwards. ‘We want to reach young talents at an early stage and show them that engineering and natural sciences are tools with which they can shape the world in a sustainable way,’ Christine Avenarius continues.
Show & Tell: Project results in the spotlight
Between 10:00 and 17:00, students from our university will present the results of their projects and coursework at numerous stands. This ‘Show & Tell’ format between House 16 and Hall 17 makes theory tangible. For Christine Avenarius, this is a core aspect of the university's profile: ‘Our university sees itself as a playground for innovation. When students present their prototypes and concepts at “Show & Tell”, this playground becomes visible. The aim is to make bold ideas from the modules directly visible and to promote exchange between disciplines.’
For all those who are curious, a campus quiz leads through the exhibition to the individual objects. Those who answer the questions about the projects correctly have the chance to win attractive prizes, which will be raffled off among all participants.
An evening dedicated to dialogue
After the exhibitions, the event will move to the StuK in House 19 at 5 p.m. The Sustainability Working Group invites you to a film screening followed by a discussion on the topic of climate change. The 60-minute documentary ‘The Week’ will be shown. ‘Sustainability requires not only technological innovation, but also reflection and community,’ explains Christine Avenarius. ‘With the screening of “The Week” and the subsequent debate, we are creating a space to discuss the big questions of our time – openly, critically and in a solution-oriented manner.’
Call to teachers: Integrate sustainability into the semester
In order for the day to have the greatest possible impact, the support of teachers is needed. The university is asking lecturers to inform their students and – if they are teaching in person on 25 June – to allow a short 15-minute window for a visit to the stands.
The direct link to teaching is particularly valuable: for example, the visit can be integrated into the examination schedule through short reports. Students who would like to present their own module results can register to do so via their supervisors. Christine Avenarius appeals to the entire university community: "Participation and co-creation are the driving forces behind sustainable development. I invite everyone to join in, get involved and let's show together how alive sustainability is at TH Wildau."
